Tracking locomotives and their respective paint schemes has been a hallmark of the Bull Sheet since its very beginning. Starting in 1982, handwritten 5x7 note sheets were distributed to a select group of readers on a mostly-daily basis listing locomotive sightings of the then-Chessie System era with their current paint schemes. The effort became known as the Bull Sheet. The format was expanded in 1986 to include other input, but the paint scheme roster has remained as an ongoing effort.
Much assistance in maintaining this list has been rendered by Robert Michaels of Howell, Michigan, who has regularly shared notes of sightings and reviewed printouts in advance of publication. Much appreciation is extended for his efforts, and to the many other spotters with their own sightings as well.

Current locomotive roster . . .
NOTE.... CW44-9 and ES44DC units are currently being reclassed as CW40-9 and ES40DC respectively. The process involves a computer upgrade which is expected to be completed to all units involved within a very short period of time. Accordingly, this roster displays all affected units under their new class, even though some of them still await their conversion.
